Saif Ali Khan Reflects on Fatherhood and Career

Saif Ali Khan, celebrating his 55th birthday on August 16, is gradually adapting to what he describes as the 'new normal.' His son, Taimur, seems to effortlessly navigate the challenges of their current lifestyle.

Saif expresses, 'It's truly touching how quickly children adapt to even the toughest circumstances. Taimur runs around our home without a care, and it's remarkable that he avoids the furniture in our compact space. Many parents are advised to rearrange their homes for toddlers, but we haven't faced that issue with Taimur.'

Does Taimur aspire to follow in his parents' footsteps as an actor or pursue cricket like his grandfather?

Saif clarifies, 'He shows no interest in cricket at all. My older son, Ebrahim, excels at it, but Taimur has no desire to pick up a bat. His passions lie in the arts—drawing, painting, and singing. Recently, he has taken a liking to dressing up as Lord Rama, enjoying the concept of the bow and arrow.'

When asked about the ongoing nepotism debate, Saif opts for neutrality. 'I prefer not to engage in that discussion. I've focused on my work and family without taking sides. While I acknowledge my privileges, I recognize that everyone faces different challenges. The film industry has its democratic aspects and merit-based opportunities, but there are certainly some controlling and corrupt elements present.'

At this stage in his life, Saif finds contentment in simplicity. 'I enjoy cooking, working, sharing wine with loved ones, and engaging in creative endeavors. Everything else feels uninviting to me.'
